Recognizing our Difference Makers | Quarter 1 Highlights
Apr 23, 2025

At Farmers Cooperative, we believe the strength of our organization lies in the people who go above and beyond—on the job and in their communities. Throughout the year, we honor employees who exemplify initiative, integrity, and heart through our Difference Maker program. These individuals don’t just do their jobs—they make a difference.
Here are a few standout stories from this quarter’s nominations that remind us what great leadership, teamwork, and compassion look like in action.
Mike Vodicka, Service Station Manager at Dorchester Tire

At Farmers Cooperative, we’re proud to recognize team members who go above and beyond—not just in their roles, but in their communities. Mike Vodicka, Service Station Manager at Dorchester Tire, is one of those people.
During the March 19th winter storm, power outages left much of Dorchester and surrounding areas without working fuel pumps. With state vehicles grounded and in need of fuel, Mike jumped into action. He located one of our fuel trucks in Milford, braved the dangerous blizzard conditions, and drove it back to Dorchester to refuel the state fleet—ensuring they could continue serving the community. He didn’t wait for direction. He saw a problem, took initiative, and solved it.
But Mike’s impact doesn’t stop at work.
This winter, during a youth basketball game in Geneva, Mike, who helps coach the 3rd and 4th grade Dorchester boys team, saw an opportunity for something bigger than the game itself. When a player with Down Syndrome from the opposing York team took the court, Mike asked permission to step in and help him make a basket. The touching moment was captured and shared online, with the player’s family expressing heartfelt thanks for Mike’s gesture of inclusion and kindness.
In both moments—on the job and on the court—Mike demonstrated what it means to be a Difference Maker. We’re proud to have him as part of the Farmers Cooperative family.

Recently, Pat played a key role in our Tire Safety Rodeo, where he helped teach critical safety practices. But he didn’t just show up—he showed up prepared. Pat created a custom banner and led a powerful session focused on three key behaviors: Complacency, Care, and Credit.

Complacency – Stay focused on your tools, equipment, and the task at hand.
-

-
Credit – Recognize your own efforts, and always give credit to your team.
Pat’s message was insightful, practical, and delivered with sincerity. It was clear to everyone in attendance that he cares deeply—not just about safety, but about his employees and customers. That care shows as Pat works right alongside his team, earning their respect every step of the way.
